The browser extension protects the message box in the AI tools you already use. The SDK and CLI bring the same protection to your own code. Both run the checks on your machine.

Install it in three steps

Unzip the file into a folder you will keep. The browser loads the extension from that folder.
Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, or edge://extensions in Edge. Turn on Developer mode.
Click Load unpacked and pick the folder. Pin Tightlip to the toolbar, then reload any AI tabs you already had open.

Your first 25 protected prompts work without a key. After that, paste your API key into the extension: create an account or get a key at /app/keys. Messages with nothing sensitive in them are never charged.

The Chrome Web Store listing is coming. Until then, loading it yourself means you can read every file first. Every permission it asks for is explained on the security page.

SDK and CLI

For Node 18 and later. Wraps the OpenAI and Anthropic clients, and includes the check and proxy commands.

Until the npm release, install from this link rather than running npx tightlip on its own. Setup and examples are in the docs.
